In de donkere aarde opent ze haar ogen. Haar dunne hand graaft zich een weg door de modderige grond. Ze voelt hoe de wormen door haar vochtige haar woelen als ze naar het oppervlak klimt. Moeizaam hijst ze zich uit de aarde. Ze zucht diep, en heft haar hoofd op. De volle maan legt een zilver schijnsel op haar bleke gezicht en de ingevallen oogkassen. Er verschijnt een gelukzalige glimlach over haar droge, blauwe lippen. Ze bukt en ziet de kleine scheefgezakte grafsteen, die word beschenen door een zwak licht. Ze knijpt haar bloeddoorlopen ogen samen om de ingebeitelde letters te ondersch Immortal Romance Dutch
